![]() ![]() That said, compared to what we’ve managed to pull off with all of the park’s other attractions over the years, the Eire leaks were just too little, too late-it was the one that got away.įortunately, thanks to an incredible collection of internally-sourced SEAS documentation we’ve recently obtained (see: our leak of SeaWorld Orlando’s Project Penguin), reporting on Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s next fully-indoor attraction will not be a repeat of our experience with Battle for Eire. Ultimately, after the park started revealing information on the project, we did end up publishing a fair bit of internal documentation regarding Eire. Since BGWFans’ founding back in 2009, Battle for Eire remains the only ride we have failed to leak in any real detail ahead of its official announcement. Far fewer aspects of an attraction constructed entirely within an existing structure will ever need to hit the public record.Ī prime example of this issue can be seen in our coverage of Battle for Eire. That said, when Busch Gardens Williamsburg builds something in an existing building, our typical gameplan tends to break down completely. ![]() Oftentimes, the bulk of our earliest reporting on new attractions comes via publicly-sourced, site preparation-related, red flags such as soil testing, height surveys, height waivers, etc. In brief, I stated that obtaining data on such a project would likely be incredibly difficult. Have previously stayed many times with the Accor brand and this seriously needs a revamp but most importantly, please please the Director of this hotel needs to see its customer service, a client complains and the lady at the reception is not even listening and no apologies presented or whatsoever. We booked this hotel based on the location which is the reason of this 1 star otherwise a 0 is what this hotel would get in my opinion and truly deserves. Worse if they are not trainees or students. Very Very disappointed and as they say arrogant French students at reception with no knowledge or customer service training. ![]() The fridges in the rooms also seem to be a bit low capacity as it took a very long time to cool anything. Issues with AC and we were moved to a nice suite but still not coping fully and this should be looked into. Overall a great stay but I think F&B needs tweaking. Again the team working here was great and always helpful. Was a bit disappointed with the selection of cold cuts and lack of perhaps a Pâté, etc. Great pastries and bread selection available. Good choice and quality coffee from machines. Eggs cooked to order were very good and always well seasoned. Seemed to struggle a bit with keeping up demand and some items were also unfortunately a bit cold. The breakfast served was buffet style and all produce was high quality. The highlighter in OneNote goes behind your ink. Despite the limited pen choices in the app, like in Apple Notes, this free app is worth trying before trying out paid options. It has improved dramatically over the years, making us question whether buying paid apps is worth it. The handwriting experience in OneNote is very good. Be careful when locking your notes because if you forget your password, those notes will remain locked forever. OneNote doesn’t protect pages and notebooks, only sections. You can password-protect the Current Section of your notes. The maximum zoom percentage in OneNote is 200%, which is not very high. Zooming in and out of your pages displays the percentage zoom on your iPad screen, which keeps your handwriting consistent when taking notes. You can view your pages at 100% zoom or fit them to the Page Width. Pages in OneNote are infinite, therefore you can’t pick a page size. OneNote has plain, ruled and grid lines with three line-spacing and page colour options. It will also provide instructions on how you can install it on Ubuntu via a personal package archive (PPA). This article will explain what LibreOffice is and why it’s important to maintainers of other open source projects. One of the most popular options is LibreOffice. Even so, there are many great open source tools for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and other common office tasks. Some major open source projects have taken a stand against other developers, leading to some programs being created and maintained as closed source. Unfortunately, this is also one of the areas where there has been some contention. Let’s not forget that, from the first release of Ubuntu, Canonical has disabled the explicit ‘root’ account to protect users from their own mistakes. The open-source software movement has been instrumental in the creation of numerous helpful software programs. While it may be macho and leet to use the command line, GUI package managers are included by default in distros to protect users from their clumsy fingers. In the worst-case scenario, using the wrong option or command can result in totally borking the system. Using CLI to install popular packages that are readily available in the default repositories is just begging for problems, such as mistyping commands or options or package name(s) in the best-case scenario. If the user answers YES, LibreOffice then proceeds with deleting the old version before installing the new one. As one of the first steps in the upgrade process, LibreOffice asks the user if (s)he wants to delete the old version. However, there is no need to explicitly uninstall the old version before installing the new version. The package manager can also be used to uninstall the old LibreOffice version, again taking care of any and all dependencies. The additional benefit of a package manager is that it will resolve and install any and all dependencies. All a user has to do to install LibreOffice is to use their distro’s Software Center or Software Manager. Most of today’s active distros contain LibreOffice in their default repositories. In the case of LibreOffice, there is no need to complicate one’s life by trying to install it using the esoteric and byzantine CLI commands. There is a time and a place to install programs/packages using the command line – as when installing obscure software from obscure sites. Consistency is key The screenshot below is of Helicon Focus. If the focus jumps backwards and forwards rather than in a straight line, Helicon Focus will throw a hissy fit, tell me off and go on strike. On the bottom one, I had to leave a 1-2pixel wide gap, as that was an area for which I had no photo where it was in focus. It also needs to have the focus moving in one direction from the first to the last photo. The technique involves taking several to many photos. The only way I was able to manually blend them together was by the use of the sky, as that is same in both photos. Its frequently impossible to get enough depth of field when focusing on a subject very close to the lens. The corners of the glass wall, are much thiner when in focus. You can see this in this example photo I took in Dubai from Burj Khalifa. So blending it just in is not always that simple. You will quickly notice, that if someting is in the foreground, and out of focus, it is bigger, than if it is in focus. Especially when the area of focus is quite different. When combining only two exposures, doing it manually is mostly the way to go. There are also different software, that can control your camera from a pc or a phone (check out the Helicos Focus), and if you have the Magic lantern firmware, you can do it directly in the camera. For instance the Promote remote can take photos for focus stacking automatically, you set it up for how many shots you want. If you want to be exactly precise or are doing macro shots, the best way to go is having a special remote, that can do this for you. If you are taking more than two shots, do the refocusing just by rotating the focus wheel a little towards infinity, or near focus (based on where you started) and repeat until you have the whole range. To take the shots, just start by focusing either on the background or the foreground, take the shots in full manual mode, and then without changing anything else, refocus on the the next part of the scene. If the transition is much harsher, as the difference between the foreground and the background is bigger, you will need more exposures, and blend them automatically. If it is in the sky, water or any other continuous transition, you will be OK with just two exposures that you can then blend manually. It all depends where the blending transition will be. The number of needed exposure at different focus, depends on what you are taking photos off. Secondly, you want to be 100% sure where the camera is focused, and this is just not possible with autofocus. So setting it up for one, and than just keeping it the same is the simplest way to archive this. ![]() First of all you need to have the same exposure for all the shots. For focus blending exposures, I really suggest going with full manual. |
